JENDRAL ANUMERTA AHMAD YANI

     Ahmad Yani was born in Jenar, Purworejo 19^th June 1922, his general education was just stuck in high school because Hindia Belanda government anouncement militia. He join military school on topography government at Malang and more intensive in Bogor. In Japan era he join Heiho education on Magelang and join Peta in Bogor.

    At the beginning of independence, he success disarm Japan in Magelang. After tentara keamanan rakyat (TKR) was made, he was served as a commander TKR in Purwokerto. His military carrier was growing rapidly. In Agresi Militer I, Netherland Armys was operate in pingit and successfull to hold Netherland Armys in that area.  

     As long as Agresi Militer II, he was served as commander Wehrkreise II covering Kedu defense area. After recognition Sovereignty, he was on duty for destroy Darul Islam/Tentara Islam Indonesia who was screw up on midle java. For that, he made new army called Banteng Raiders who was given special practice. After that, he withdrawn to land force Staff and schooled at command and general staff college in US.

     In 1958 on Sumatra and Nort Sulawesi appear rebellion called Permesta/PRRI. Colonel Ahmad Yani was promoted to commander and comman operation 17^th August.

     With a short time, his army succsess dominate Padang, and Bukittinggi. Because his successfull mision, he promoted to important position on Land Force. As long as he hold the chief of staff at the Land Force, he was face up a lot attack from PKI. Land Forces was slandered cooperate with a foreign country to drop Sukarno from his position as president. With full of assertive he disagree PKI plan to make 5^th Force consist of laborer and farmer. Because of that, he was being hostile by PKI.

     In early morning in 1 October1965, PKI kidnaped and kill him, his dead body was hidden in lubang buaya, after they found his body, they buried in Hero Funeral, Kalibata, Jakarta.
